CPLA 2015 Winter Term 1st Community Service

CPLA 2015 Winter Term 1st Community Service was held successfully in today morning. We went to the Holly Residential Care Center to visit the elderly. CPLA has been there to accompany with the residents for several times.
Since Chinese New Year is in the corner, CPLA members and volunteers brought blessings, Chinese calligraphy couplets there. We introduced Chinese culture, shared Spring Festival customs and worked on an art project with the residents. The residents whom, mostly, have sustained a brain and/ or spinal cord injury at some point in their lives. Hence, we had difficulties communicating with them. However, it is believed that they can feel our kindness and companied. As Norma, the activity staff, said”Most of the residents do not have clear minds. Even though they might forget what happened in this morning, they were feeling happy at that moment at least. ” I think what we did has already deserved.
Holly Residential is seeking out volunteers who would like to devote some of their free time to helping those who are less fortunate in a very fun way! Share your time with a great group of people!10974390_812669142147449_8625797282817127625_o
